Who are we?

🌱 At Next Level e.V., we are committed to a sustainable and just future.

Next Level e.V. is a global community dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through education, sustainable practices, and intercultural collaboration.
We are active in both local and international projects, with a focus on ecological education, entrepreneurship, and transcultural learning.
Our mission is to create spaces and opportunities for transformative learning and action.

We are committed to a sustainable and just future. Our projects operate in the fields of education, health, environment, and technology, always aiming to create ecological, social, and economic value.

In Erfurt and internationally, we support learning formats like think camps, workshops, youth exchanges, volunteer programs, and co-working structures, each designed to provide regenerative and meaningful impulses.

🤝 We strengthen Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

🌱 Global Learning: We facilitate cross-border encounters and raise awareness of global responsibility—through programs like Greencademy and Wastecademy youth exchanges.

🌱 Social & Economic Development: We support young initiatives with hands-on coaching in funding and structure, and promote social entrepreneurship (e.g. built share repair, Fairly fair e.V.).

🌱 Ecological Responsibility & Action: Our school and public projects foster tangible environmental awareness—from biotope care to waste reduction and permaculture workshops.

What do we do?

We put our heart and soul into our projects every day. We are happy to give you an overview of the most important projects we are currently working on.

🌿Our Fields of Action🧑🏼‍🚀

Our work is dynamic and multifaceted! We’ve honed our expertise across various fields to ensure we excel in what we do and provide the best support for people in addressing their unique challenges.

Ecological education & sustainability

We teach holistic and life-enhancing principles of action in think camps and training courses. Empowering communities to live in harmony with nature.

Economic education & entrepreneurship

How does an idea become a company? What will companies look like in the future? Together we will explore the new paths from work to life.

Transcultural Education & Global Solidarity

Transcultural education is part of all our learning arrangements. Because living together means learning to understand each other!

SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being
Next Level understands education as a holistic process. Programs such as Balancecademy, as well as workshops on mental health, resilience, and self-reflection, strengthen the psychological and social well-being of young people. Projects focusing on sustainability and environmental awareness also promote health-conscious lifestyles.

🎯 SDG 4 – Quality Education
This SDG is reflected in all of Next Level’s educational initiatives – from Erasmus+ exchanges and school workshops to creative learning methods. It supports inclusive, equitable, and high-quality lifelong learning.

SDG 5 – Gender Equality
Inclusion, equal rights, and empowerment are core values of the organization’s work. Projects such as Include, Connect & Re-Generate, as well as initiatives like Questions for Women, particularly empower women and marginalized groups and promote active participation in society.

SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
Through transcultural educational programs, Erasmus+ projects, coaching, and empowerment initiatives, Next Level creates equal opportunities for learning and participation. In this way, social, cultural, and educational inequalities are specifically addressed and reduced.

🌍 SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
Work in projects such as Greencademy, Wastecademy, and school-based upcycling or zero-waste activities directly contributes to this goal – particularly through awareness-raising, local impact, and behavioral change in consumption.

🤝 SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
Next Level builds local and international networks – through Erasmus+ projects and cooperation with schools, youth centers, and NGOs – thereby making an important contribution to this goal through cross-sector collaboration and solidarity.

And beyond that, we at Next Level are also active in many other areas of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). These include social justice, digitalization, health, cultural participation, and technological innovation—always with a holistic, hands-on, and participatory approach.

Participants stories:

THERE IS NO BAD WEATHER. Hi, my name is Juanma. I am from the Basque Country, but I live in Málaga, in the south of Spain. I enjoyed very much the training course in Bad Berka last October organised by Next Level. I already knew about the concept of permaculture but obviously I deepened my knowledge about it. I realized how one of permaculture’s cornerstones is the concept of optimisation of the available resources, and this is deeply connected with the very necessary idea of acceptance, which is the willingness to recognize and embrace a situation, person, or feeling without resistance. It involves acknowledging reality as it is, letting go of judgment, and adapting with openness. One of the activities I enjoyed the most was when our two friendly gardeners explained us about the day-to-day of the little community orchard of the castle. They told us this sentence, there is not bad weather, only bad equipment. The weather is what it is, and it will not change whatever our reaction might be. Therefore, the best reaction possible is to adapt your behaviour, the activity you are planning to do, the equipment you are going to wear, to the actual weather. That is what will make the difference. Complaining about the weather won't change it, but it can ruin your day. It is the same in a plot of land: What is its shape? Which kind of soil does it have? How much water is there available? How sunny might it be? These conditions are there, and by accepting them, and adapting your strategy to them, you might make this piece of land a little bit paradise. If you want to adapt the reality to your project, and not your project to the reality, you will try to cultivate plants that do not belong and will not be ready to thrive in this environment, you will rape the land to extract a water that eventually will run out, you will be forced to use unnatural products… maybe it is a better approach to observe what you have, and try to make the best of it. We live in a society that is always in a hurry, even if it does not know why it is hurrying so much. Maybe it is a better path just to enjoy the little and simple things of life (there are plenty) rather than obsessing with accumulating lots of very complicated, fancy (and most often absolutely unnecessary) objects, that will never be enough. It is much better to be convinced, and happy of being so, that there is not bad weather.

GREENCADEMY TC25
Spending 10 days in the middle of Germany, in Großlohra, by a middle-aged castle with people I had never met before, may sound crazy — but it turned out to be one of the best solo journeys of my life. The workshop was beautifully organized: we didn’t just sit and listen to concepts, we lived them. Every day followed a unique method where we first learned about an idea, then went outside to play a game connected to it and afterwards discussed what the game had taught us. This mix of theory, practice, and reflection made every concept unforgettable. On top of that, we had responsibilities of our own — including taking turns to plan and lead activities or games. That sense of trust and contribution was truly empowering. Some of the concepts that will stay with me are PERMA, Ikigai, breathing techniques, and yoga. I want to keep learning more about them, and I’m already excited to share these ideas (and even some of the games!) with my friends and my partner. Hopefully, they will find them as helpful as I did. One of the most surprising moments for me was receiving so many compliments about my passion. Sometimes I doubt myself for building my life so strongly around it, but this experience reminded me that passion is not something to hide — it is something to follow. I will continue to trust this path and see where it leads me. On a personal level, I really needed this experience. My life has changed a lot recently, and I’ve been trying to find balance with all the new aspects of it. These 10 days gave me tools, friendships, and clarity that I believe would have taken years to gain in normal life. I am deeply grateful, and I hope the journey of growth continues.
