School projects 2023

We designed a project on the topic of environment/nature/health at the community school at “Großer Herrenberg” in March. Students from grades 7 to 10 took part in the four projects we led.

“Creative with colors and fabrics” dealt with the use of old clothes and fabric scraps to create creative pictures, decorations and dyed clothes and bags.

In the “City of the Future” project, the participants created buildings or areas out of garbage. They built structures from the collected materials that could serve as models for a future, sustainable city.

The third project, “Wood Construction Project”, dealt with the use of wood scraps to build two raised beds and the result was a beautiful and sustainable garden area that can be used by the community.

In the “Stop Motion Film” project, short films were created on topics of sustainability.

Through the projects, the learners were not only able to improve their creative skills, but also learn a lot about sustainability and environmental protection.

As a cultural partner, we ran the project “Innehalten und Kraft schöpfen” (“Pause and Gain Strength”) with the Christophorusschule Erfurt. For a week, the students built a geodome on the Petersberg and were thrilled by the experience of working in the fresh air on a project that strengthens community and cohesion.

We implemented the “Community Garden Project for a Sustainable Future” with the Otto-Lilienthal Community School on July 3, 2023. As part of a cleanup project, we cleared the area of garbage. In the community garden on the Geraaue, the children planted plants and built shelters for animals.

As part of the “grünes Klassenzimmer” project, we continued to redesign the schoolyard at the Marie-Elise Kayser School in June. We were able to build two raised beds from old pallets and decorate them with color. This taught the students about upcycling, sustainability and safety measures in public places.
