Grow together

“Growing Together” brought social and sustainable education to Erfurt’s urban gardens. Our series of events started with a livestream from the garden of Erfurter Klanggerüst e.V.. This was followed by a workshop on recycling at Lagune e.V., where we built a folding slatted bench with students from the University of Erfurt. You can find the instructions below the text.

In the garden of the BuGa 2021 associations, we organized an art seminar on the topic of art and sustainability in front of our self-built geodome. Art students from the University of Erfurt painted, knitted and drew, accompanied by live music from local singers and songwriters.

In June, a cultural picnic was held where visitors could enjoy local musicians, poetry slammers and the urban greenery in the sound structure.

Our garden party also took place at the Herrenberg District Center (STZ) as part of Growing Together. Live music from a Latin American band and singers and songwriters brightened up the warm summer evening in the countryside.

Our final event was the Evening of Cultures. This took place in cooperation with the “Engagement Land” event organized by Culture Goes Europe (CGE) Erfurt e.V. and the Social Impulse Hub at Klanggerüst. It was an intercultural afternoon where you could talk to local and international Erfurt initiatives and meet new people at various activities, such as a multilingual karaoke.

We worked together with the university and Erfurt initiatives such as the Hochschulliga, Fairly Fair e.V., the STZ am Herrenberg, the Küche für Alle (KüfA), the Lagune and the Klanggerüst. Growing Together” was funded by the Free State of Thuringia and the European Solidarity Corps.
